Insurance Coverage & Rental Policies

We strive to provide a safe, smooth, and worry-free car rental experience. Below you will find a clear overview of our insurance coverage and renter responsibilities.

Full Coverage Insurance

All our vehicles include full coverage insurance with a $400 deductible.

  • If the damage amount is less than $400, the renter covers the full cost.
  • If the damage exceeds $400, the renter pays $400 and the insurance company covers the remaining amount.
  • In case of total loss (vehicle beyond repair), the renter is liable for 10% of the vehicle’s value, as stated in the rental agreement.

Third-Party Liability

The insurance covers third-party liability up to 1,000,000 KGS.

If damages to third parties (life, health, or property) exceed this limit, the renter is responsible for the remaining amount.

What Is Considered an Insured Event

Insurance applies to unexpected events caused by external factors, including:

  • Road traffic accidents
  • Fire or explosion
  • Natural disasters
  • Unlawful actions of third parties
  • External impact (e.g., stones or gravel hitting the vehicle), except minor paint damage without part damage
  • Theft or hijacking of the vehicle
  • Other unforeseen events related to the use or ownership of the vehicle

What Is Not Covered (Non-Insured Events)

Insurance does not apply in the following cases:

  • Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or prohibited medication (strict 0.0 tolerance)
  • Violations such as crossing a double solid line or running a red light
  • Damage to the underbody, tires, suspension, glass, or lights (unless directly caused by an insured event)
  • Off-road driving or river crossings (unless resulting from an insured event)
  • Negligence (e.g., using incorrect fuel, ignoring warning lights)
  • Failure to monitor and maintain oil, coolant, or tire pressure

What To Do in Case of an Accident

If an incident occurs:

  1. Do not move the vehicle.
  2. Call the traffic police and obtain an official report (required even for minor damage).
  3. Collect witness details, if available.
  4. Take photos and videos from multiple angles.
  5. Contact us immediately.

Please note: Government fines, towing fees, and other related expenses not covered by insurance must be paid by the renter.

Liability for Total Loss

In case of total vehicle destruction:

  • The renter pays 10% of the vehicle’s value.
  • The renter is fully responsible for any losses resulting from non-insured actions (e.g., drunk driving, theft by the renter, unauthorized transfer to third parties).

Passenger & Luggage Responsibility

The renter is fully responsible for the safety of all passengers and personal belongings during the rental period.

Standard Charges for Non-Insured Events

  • Lost vehicle registration: $200
  • Lost key: $100 per key
  • Tire damage: $100–$150 per tire
  • Lost or stolen license plate: $150 per plate
  • Minor cosmetic damage (e.g., bumper scratches): $50–$100

Example of an Insured Event

During a trip on the Bishkek–Osh highway, one of our clients was involved in a traffic accident with another car.

The total repair cost for our vehicle was 5,000 USD.

Under the terms of our insurance policy, the client’s financial responsibility is limited to the 400 USD deductible. The remaining 4,600 USD is covered entirely by the insurance provider. This deductible amount applies regardless of which party was responsible for the accident.

Any damage caused to the other vehicle is handled through third-party liability insurance, which covers up to 1,000,000 KGS. As long as the compensation remains within this coverage limit, the client does not have to pay anything extra for third-party damages.

In this case, the client followed the correct procedure:

  • Immediately contacted the traffic police
  • Obtained the official accident report
  • Submitted all necessary documentation to our office

Additional Obligations

Even when an incident qualifies as insured, the renter may still be responsible for:

  • Paying any traffic fines issued by authorities
  • Covering towing or recovery expenses required to transport the vehicle back to Bishkek

Repairs are carried out at an authorized service center in Bishkek.

If the repairs are completed within a short period of time, the renter may continue the trip using the same vehicle.

However, if the damage is extensive and requires longer repair time, providing a replacement vehicle cannot be guaranteed.
